Ice in Muskogee... Again

Ice Storms in Muskogee, January 2007 and 2009.

January 14, 2007: Three inches of ice. Mainly trees and power lines affected; the roads were clear.

January 28, 2009: One inch of ice, three inches of sleet. The trees and power lines aren't nearly as bad, but the roads are horrible.

January 13, 2007: This neighborhood lost power for several days. The damage to the trees was very bad by the time it was all over.

January 29, 2009: The tree damage here is fairly minimal, and the power hasn't gone off yet.

Here's a few more pictures taken this morning. There has been a little melting since the other day, but it hasn't been much.

1.2.3.

1. That's ice off the power lines. 2-3 feet long, stabbed right into the sleet. 2. They finally cleared the road. 3. Pine trees don't like the ice, but it was much, much worse in 2007.
